Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

What is DACA?

On June 15, 2012, the Secretary of Homeland Security announced that certain people who came to the United States as children and meet several key guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal.

DACA gives young undocumented immigrants: 1) protection from deportation, and 2) a work permit.
DACA does not grant a path to permanent residency or citizenship.

As of today inititial or renewal requests for DACA are not being considered* (please visit webpage below for details and or exceptions).
